How it works
The distribution pipe, including the sand delivery hose, is used to transport the sand from the dosing device to the wheel-rail contact over a distance of up to 10 m (depending on the compressed air source). As the sand has already been accelerated in the dosing device, it is not absolutely necessary to ensure that the hose is constantly falling when connecting the sand hose to the vehicle. This makes them particularly suitable for streetcars with a small installation space, such as low-floor vehicles. The shape of the hose guide can be adapted to practically any design requirement. To ensure that the distribution pipes also function smoothly at low outside temperatures, there is the option of fitting them with a heating cartridge.
Types
The sand is transported via the distribution pipe from the dosing device to directly in front of the wheel/rail gap. As no heating cartridge is installed here, it is mainly used in regions with a constantly warm climate.
